"I was referred here for an ongoing autism diagnosis and following therapy. The process was really easy and straightforward, the staff including Jo were very welcoming and lovely, very professional and explained everything in terms I could understand. My therapy sessions with Jo have been most helpful following my diagnosis, and I couldn't recommend her enough for anyone going through the same process!".

Autism & ADHD Assessment Testimonials
"I had a great experience at Join Psychology. I was looking for a private, initial consultation to get a professional opinion regarding autism. Dr Coombs was great throughout. I had lots of questions beforehand, which she answered patiently and clearly and I was able to see her quickly. The initial consultation was also very good. I found Dr Coombs (Jo) to be friendly and approachable, but also professional throughout - a great balance! Many thanks Jo for your help".

"I have recently completed an adult autism (ASC) assessment with Dr Jo Coombs and Harriet Hunter at Join Psychology. It was a very positive experience. I spent a lot of time researching autism assessment options before choosing Join Psychology. I am aware that autism in women is often underdiagnosed, and the fact that clinicians at Join Psychology have specific expertise in this area gave me confidence. I also appreciated that Join Psychology are explicitly LGBTQ+ affirmative. Jo and Harriet were extremely friendly, supportive, and reassuring. Throughout the process, emphasis was placed on affirmative ways of understanding autism while also appreciating difficulties that can arise if you are a neurodivergent person. The process was also extremely thorough and comprehensive, which gives me confidence in the diagnostic outcome. I was impressed with the final report, which was detailed, helpful and constructive in terms of speaking to the diagnostic criteria while also foregrounding strengths related to autism. I felt that the language used in the report (and throughout our meetings) was supportive and validating even when talking about more difficult experiences. Overall, I am extremely grateful to have worked with Jo and Harriet and can highly recommend Join Psychology".

"I cannot say how happy my wife and I are that Jo was the clinician we chose. For my entire life I had struggled to understand who I was and why the world was different to me than to those around me. Her professionalism, tenacity, attention to detail and compassion go beyond words. The fact I left with the 'label' of Autism is not a bad thing. It has enabled me to become who I really am and that with an understanding of what I need to do to improve the quality of not just my life but that of my wife also. Ultimately, it has turned my life up the right way, and for that I cannot find the right words other than thank you".

"After researching different places where I might be able to access a private assessment for possible neurodivergence I found Jo and her team at Join Psychology. Every step of the way I felt looked after, well communicated with and following my assessment and subsequent diagnosis was also able to access post diagnostic sessions with psychologist on the team. Having heard of others experiences, where they were given their diagnosis and sent on their way, I can't say how grateful I am that I chose Join Psychology and that i've been able to receive the services and support before during and after my assessment. Even the simple fact that you can access a pre-assessment appointment (to determine if a full assessment makes sense and or whether it is in fact something you wish to pursue - as an adult) makes it an accessible service unlike many others, even if you should choose to wait for NHS services, Jo and the team were great from the start and each person I've had dealt with along the way has been fantastic. Highly recommend especially if you are an adult searching for answers and a late-in-life diagnosis but also recommend in general as the care Jo and the team take is exceptional and they are very thoughtful and knowledgeable".

"The most neuro-affirming, strengths based professionals I have ever encountered. It is clear Jo recognises and understands the experiences of neurodivergent females. I cannot fault the service I experienced"

"I discovered Join Psychology when navigating the National Autistic Society website under the “Autism service directory” and then carrying out my own research too. It didn’t take me long to realise that this was the place for me! Jo and her team were wonderful for me to be able to untangle and navigate my own personal complexities. I knew how I felt, but I never really could understand why I felt the way I did at times. Every time I came away from Jo I left with a sense of feeling understood. Jo helped me so much to figure things out. Join Psychology carry out a thorough range of comprehensive discussions and assessments over a series of weeks wrapped up within a very calming and relaxing environment. I highly recommend Jo and her team. You are treated as an individual and not a number. Thank you once again Jo and to all your team. I can’t thank you enough!".

Supervision Testimonials
"I have known Jo professionally for years, as both an employee and colleague. She is a highly professional, knowledgeable and experienced psychologist, with all the qualities you would want in a therapist (kind, empathic and patient). I would recommend her services highly".

"I had some clinical supervision sessions with Jo as I was feeling uncontained at work and wanted a space to think about my clients and develop my clinical skills. I found the sessions EXTREMELY helpful and would recommend Jo to anyone. She is extremely thoughtful and reflective, and went out of her way to send me relevant papers and formulation diagrams that were relevant to the cases I discussed. I thoroughly enjoyed all of our discussions and they motivated me during a time when I was finding work tough. I’m so grateful to Jo and will be booking in further supervision sessions going forward for sure"..
